About Power Access

Back in 2003 the problem we set out to solve was simple: providing simple systems for our clients to solve tedious problems. But later we decide this is not enough – we have to create income generation incentive to make our clients to invest in our systems.

The vision is to develop enterprise software which makes the investment advisory process radically more productive and ensures that the outputs were of a consistently high quality, customer friendly and compliant-free. The use of technology in this way would also enable financial firms to provide access to comprehensive information and analytical tools should they so wish. This platform would enable our clients to construct and manage portfolios professionally and, more importantly, profitably.

Headache One

In my IFA firm, clients request investment valuation report very often – twice a week in normal situation and everyday after the collapse of Lehaman Brothers. Since most of them have invested more than one investment plan, summarized valuation reports have to be prepared manually. These exercises have been consuming lots of our staff and consultant resources. Thanks to the Kapita Financial Dynamics, this headache of printing valuation reports, summarizing the figures and resending the summary reports to clients (and making sure the right reports going to the right clients) is totally solved. Unlike in the old days, now we welcome our clients to look at their valuation reports frequently, which will not increase our workload anymore but, on the other hand, generate more advertising revenue for us.

Headache Two

We have been fined by the SFC for not keeping client documents intact. Actually, our administration staff have followed management instructions and have filed client files accordingly once after client applications are received. However, our consultants do not keep a separate set of files and are used to borrow the files from the administration whenever they want to refer to them. The consultants never take the initiative to return the files on time. Hence, after a period of time, some files were lost and had never been found out ever since.

From now on, whenever a consultant needs to refer to a client file, he or she can log in the system and read the files on web (this also mean the consultant can read a client file anywhere and any time he wants). Unlike in the old days, now we welcome our consultants to look at their client files as frequently as possible because this will not increase our administration workload anymore but, on the other hand, generate more advertising revenue for us.

Headache Three

We are a small IFA firm and cannot afford subscribing the Bloomberg or Morningstar online services. Hence, when coming to search the right portfolio of funds, consultants had to go to different web sites to gather different information. Nevertheless, comparison of different funds of the same category was found to be impossible. Thanks to the Kapita Financial Dynamics, this headache of searching and comparing different funds is totally solved – all our consultants can now do searching and comparison on Kapita web. Unlike in the old days we told our consultants searching and comparing funds were unimportant, now we welcome our consultants to search, compare and analyse funds as frequently as possible because this will warrant production of better fund portfolio and, more importantly, generate more advertising revenue for us.
